Introduction

Fieldwork is an organisation that offers hands-on experience in Bangladesh. The Kansai-Bangladesh Project is a non-profit organisation (NPO), established in 1985. It aims to develop good relations between Japan and Bangladesh. Without genuine equality of cross-cultural respect nothing can move ahead. (What can be learnt from Bangladesh; what can Bangladesh learn from Japan?) The problems of poverty and the environment are not likely to be solved in the foreseeable future.

What can be learnt from Bangladesh; what can Bangladesh learn from Japan?

We aim to create sustainable programs working with the local people. We send regular financial support, organise work visits in both directions and endeavour to improve medical and educational facilities. Funds are raised through membership fees, the import of crafts and from charity events like the Kansai Bangladesh Charity Concert. The administrative expenses are covered by Fieldwork (Japan), a charity based in Kobe, Japan.

We need volunteers to help with fundraising in Japan, to study in Bangladesh and to develop our South Asian database. There is always something to be done. Fill out our on-line membership form to volunteer or e-mail us at info@fwbangla.org for further information.
