We have just escaped another disaster on the 15th. The SIDR or the eye was very powerfull. First it took a course towards the northwest. But gradually it bent towards the east and treked over Barisal, Khulna and Dhaka towards Sylhet. It is estimated that more than ten thousand people died. A large number of deers have been swept away by the tidal bore in the islands south of Sundarban. Also hundreds of cattle heads have died in the coastal area.

I may have a chance to visit Taiwan in the first week of January. It is about a Buddhist conference of monks. I am to accompany as an interpreter.

Soon the defective tubewell will be resunk. The cooperative association is functioning well. It has started to generate small income to support operational expenses like staff salary and space rent. You will see the progress during your visit.
